There’s something about cinnamon apple oatmeal in the morning that just feels like a hug. This oat bowl is cozy, lightly sweet, and grounding — perfect for slow mornings or busy ones when you still want something nourishing.
Ingredients
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups water or plant milk (almond, oat, or soy all work)
- 1 medium apple, diced
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (more or less to taste)
- Pinch of salt
Optional Toppings
- Chopped walnuts or pecans
- Raisins or dates

- A drizzle of extra maple syrup
Instructions
- In a small pot, bring the water or plant milk to a gentle boil.
- Add the oats, diced apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Lower the heat and simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are soft and creamy and the apples are tender.
- Stir in the maple syrup and adjust sweetness if needed.
- Spoon into a bowl and add any toppings you like.
Yum’s Notes
This bowl is naturally filling thanks to the fiber in the oats and apples. If you want to boost the protein, try stirring in a spoon of almond butter or adding a handful of chopped nuts on top. You can also make it extra creamy with oat or almond milk instead of water.
Warm, simple, and just sweet enough — this one is an easy way to start the day on a cozy note.
